Trade Union (Facility Time Publication Requirements) Regulations 2017

The Trade Union (Facility Time Publication Requirements) Regulations 2017 came into force on 1st April 2017.

The first relevant reporting period ran from 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2018. The data must be published annually, with the first publication of data being due by 31st July 2018.

The regulations require relevant public sector employers to collect and publish data if they have at least one TU representative and have more than 49 full time equilvalent (FTE) employees during any seven months of a 12 month relevant period in relation to :

  • The number of full time equivalent employees who were relevant union officials during the relevant reporting period at Alpha Academies Trust is one.
  • The employee who was a relevant union officials during the relevant reporting period spent the following percentage of their working hours on facility time: 0%
  • the percentage of the total pay bill (i.e. gross salaries + pension contributions + national insurance contributions) spent on facility time is Nil
  • The time spent on paid trade union activities as a percentage of total paid facility time is Nil
